ph365The Chicago Cubs have acquired Andrew Kittredge in a late Wednesday night trade with the Baltimore Orioles. Chicago, looking to beef up their bullpen, as they currently trade in the National League Central by a single game to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs finished the series strong on Wednesday, winning the series finale.

phwinThe 35-year-old right-hander was with St. Louis last season and was solid. He was 5-5 on the season, with a 2.80 earned run average. This season with Baltimore, he is 2-2 in 31 games and has a 3.45 earned run average.

winhqThe first seven seasons of his MLB career he spent with the Tampa Bay Rays. He comes to the Cubs with a 25-14 record and a career 3.45 earned run average. He has struck out 304 batters and walked just 84 through 315.2 innings.

Kittredge has been in the postseason twice in his career. The first time, he made two appearances with the Rays in 2021. The last time he pitched in the postseason was in 2023. He has gone 4.1 innings, and has not alowed a run during those appearances.

The finalized package of the deal will be announced Thursday morning between the two teams. Both the Cubs and Orioles are off on Thursday. The two teams play each other on Friday in the first of a three-game series.
